Dave Portnoy Giving Money to Ocean View, NJ Animal Rescue

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has been helping animal shelters around the county to try and help spread the message to adopt and save more dogs.

His generosity has reached the Jersey Shore, with Portnoy reaching out to a local shelter in the Ocean View section of Upper Township, Beacon Animal Rescue will be receiving funds to help with the cause.

Beacon has been dealing with a faulty septic system, which has prevented them from bringing in any new dogs or cats. Repairing the septic system would completely deplete Beacon’s funds, as the cost to repair it is upwards of $30,000 per a press release sent by Beacon.

Portnoy adopted his dog, "Miss Peaches", from the LifeLine Animal Project and has since made it his mission to help other animal shelters in need. Since rescuing Miss Peaches, Portnoy has helped raise over $500,000 and created a line of merchandise with the proceeds going to shelters.

"We got your e-mail, did the research on Beacon, and me and Miss Peaches want to help," said Potnoy in a Facetime call with one of Beacon’s many valued volunteers, Jillian Shoffler.

"We are happy to help, get you guys back to getting dogs."

Shoffler said she wrote an e-mail to Portnoy in looking for help to repair the septic system.

“I decided to write a letter to Dave on behalf of Beacon explaining our needed repair and figured asking for a donation of any amount was worth a shot. The worst he could say was no,” Shoffler said. “I had no idea if he would be interested in donating to Beacon, but knew I had nothing to lose by contacting him.”

“We were already planning to do whatever we could to fix the situation,” Beacon’s Executive Director Ryan Parker said. “However, gaining the help of Mr. Portnoy and Miss Peaches is a blessing beyond our wildest dreams.”

The Cost Of Seasonal Parking Permits In Cape May County, NJ Shore Towns

Every Jersey Shore Town located in Cape May County now uses the ParkMobile App for parking, as every town has made the transition to Virtual Parking Meters. Some people do not want the hassle of using a Virtual App or paying for Meters. These people typically obtain Seasonal Parking Passes in order to park in the Coastal Communities from May through September.

Here is a breakdown of how much those Parking Permits are reported to cost in each Cape May County Shore Town. Small Municipalities such as West Wildwood and West Cape May do not have their own parking meters or Seasonal Parking Permits, so they are not listed below.
