A new indoor play space for kids is coming to Newtown, PA.

If the plans are approved by the Newtown Township Planning Commission, the facility will open this summer.

"Playpad" will be a 5,000 square foot play space for children up to 6 years old.

According to patch.com, "Playpad will offer a place where parents can come with their children to enjoy a variety of indoor play activities. Parental supervision will be required at all times; no drop off will be allowed".

Stephanie Rubin, owner of Playpad, says the play space will be a "friendly and interactive environment that will provide a variety of options for children to develop their imagination and cognitive skills" via patch.com.

Features of the play space will include a playground gym, sensory toys for special needs children, a play area for toddlers and babies, and yes, there will be Wi-Fi and coffee available for parents.

If the plans are approved at the planning commission's March 7th meeting, Playpad will open this summer in Newtown on Friends Lane in the Newtown Business Commons.

The hours of operation will be Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and weekends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Private birthday parties will be held during afternoons on weekends.
