According to the Burlington County Times, despite complaints from many local residents, the plans for a new Royal Farms convenience store and gas station on Route 73 and Lincoln Drive were approved by the Evesham Township Zoning Board.

Most complaints came from people living in the Orchards at Greentree townhouse complex that sits next to the proposed site.

The Maryland-based Royal Farms has been quickly moving into "Wawa territory."  They currently have 6 stores in New Jersey with 3 more coming soon.

RoyalFarms.com says that they opened their first store in 1959.  Similar to Wawa and QuickChek, they serve sandwiches and other prepared foods in addition to traditional items sold in convenience stores.  They are most famous for their fried chicken.  In fact, in 2017, Food & Wine Magazine named it one of the 10 Gas Station Foods Across the Country That Are Worth the Detour.

The proposed site in Evesham is already a very busy stretch of Route 73, with an AMC movie theater, Whole Foods, T.G.I. Fridays and many other businesses within a mile of the location.
