The holiday parade in New Hope (Bucks County), which was scheduled for tomorrow (December 1), has been canceled.

Terry Meehan, the president for the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, confirmed the news on Facebook this morning by saying it was a difficult decision, but the weather forecast played a role.

"Due to storms heading our way, we had to make the very difficult and sad decision to cancel the parade," Meehan wrote. "SAFETY is our main concern and it looks like an icy, rainy snow storm will not be in the best interest of participants or people coming to watch the parade."

This year's event would have been the third annual parade.

Of course, there is still plenty to do in the Bucks County town to celebrate the holiday season.

In fact, New Hope was recently named one of the top 50 Christmas towns in the USA by Country Living Magazine.
