Despite protests from many local residents, patch.com says that the Lower Makefield Township Planning Commission has approved the zoning overlay for the mixed-use development Prickett Preserve at Edgewood.

Patch.com says this is the first step in the approval process.  The proposal now moves to township planners approving the zoning change.  If that happens, according to patch.com, "the project will proceed through the land development process."

In an earlier post, we told you about how Prickett Run Preserve at Edgewood would be located between Stony Hill Road and I-295 near Shady Brook Farm.  The communities most significant occupant would be Wegmans grocery store.

Wegmans currently has several stores in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including Princeton, Mt. Laurel and Cherry Hill, NJ, and Downingtown, Warrington and King of Prussia, PA.

The developers have posted plans, artist renderings and more information about Prickett Preserve at Edgewood here.
