In June, we reported on a proposal that would bring Wegmans to Lower Makefield in Bucks County.  The store, along with other retail shops and apartments, would be located between Stony Hill Road and I-295 near Shady Brook Farm.

At that time, it seemed like most of the reaction was positive, but now, it appears there is a significant amount of people who would prefer that the proposal be voted down.

According to theintell.com, hundreds of people showed up at a meeting of the Lower Makefield Township Planning Commission and many of them were there to voice their opposition to the proposal.  In fact, the crowd was so large that the meeting had to be postponed about an hour into it because of people complaining they could not see or hear the proceedings.

Theintell.com says that opponents fear that the proposed property, which is being called Prickett Run, would bring "even more traffic to the heavily traveled road across the street from Shade Brook Farm near the Newtown Bypass."

According to theintell.com, the meeting will be rescheduled and will take place at a larger venue, possibly at one of the schools in the Pennsbury School District.  Residents are asked to check lmt.org for more information.
