TRAFFIC ALERT: I-295 West (Known As Southbound) Will Close This Afternoon

Heads up if you're traveling between Mercer County (New Jersey) and Bucks County (Pennsylvania) today.

All traffic will be stopped at I-295 Westbound (formerly known as southbound) just after the Scudder Falls Bridge in Lower Makefield, Bucks County at noon today (August 1).

The closure follows an accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer which was blocking the right lane for most of the morning. The crash happened between the rest area exit and Exit 8 for PA 322/Newtown.

Officials say this afternoon's closure will allow them to completely clear the tractor-trailer from the roadway. Lower Makefield Police say they expect the closure to last about half an hour in total, but you should expect delays to linger into the early afternoon, of course.
