The Mayor of North Wildwood announced that this Friday, May 8th, Wildwood's beaches, boardwalks, parks, and playgrounds will open, according to FOX 29. The mayor made the announcement last night.

They mayor does want to make sure that everyone knows, social distancing still needs to be utilized. Shops and certain restaurants will still be closed, but a few of them opened for to-go orders last week. Wildwood is going to start seeing a lot more people in the popular beach town especially with Memorial Day weekend approaching and the decision for short term rentals to happen.

We've all been cooped up in our homes since Governor Murphy announced a statewide Stay at Home Order back in March.

The Governor says we are allowed to go outside and stay active, but we're still urged to social distance from others.

My family and I have been out for walks around our neighborhood and my husband has been taking all the trips to the grocery store, but other than that, we've been staying home to help lessen the spread of coronavirus.

Now that the weather is nicer and we live in New Jersey with miles and miles of beautiful beaches, people are wondering, will we be able to visit those beaches this summer. It's good that we may be able to in Wildwood this weekend.

Hopefully, everyone can still use social distancing and the Mayor won't have to close everything back up again. We don't want Governor Murphy to think we're a bunch of knuckleheads. I'd love to sit on the beach soon.
