Amazing First: Cousins Finish 1st & 2nd for Miss New Jersey 2023
Our fast investigation into The Miss New Jersey Pageant indicates that last night at Resorts Casino Hotel was a first in its history.
The winner, Victoria Mozitis goes to The Miss America 2024 Scholarship Competition, while (her cousin) the First Runner-up, Grace Mozitis would serve in the absence of her cousin.
This appears to be the first time that cousins have ever finished 1-2 in the Miss New Jersey competition.
Our featured photo (above), taken by Nicole Tepedino, shows the two Mozitis cousins tightly hugging just seconds before the announcement of the First runner-up, which simultaneously reveals the winner.
The Resorts Casino Hotel Super Star Theater in Atlantic City has become a wonderful home for pageants, such as the annual Miss Senior America Pageant.
Miss Cape Shores Victoria Mozitis was crowned the new Miss New Jersey 2023 by Augostina Mallous, Miss New Jersey 2022 during the Grand Finale.
Victoria Mozitis prevailed over 29 other contestants and now will compete in the 2024 Miss America Scholarship Competition.
The four points of the crown are:
- Style
- Scholarship
- Service
- Success
Former Miss New Jersey great Mary McGinnis Blackburn is one of the most supportive pageant fraternity that you will find anywhere in America.
You can say the same about Nicolle Tepedino, too.
Mary posted the following photo and kind and supportive comments on her Facebook Page:
“We have a NEW Miss New Jersey! Welcome to the sisterhood Victoria Mozitis!”
Pictured above are (left to right) Jennifer Farrell, Victoria Mozitis and Mary McGinnis Blackburn.
The reigning Miss America is Grace Stake, Miss America 2023.

Victoria Mozitis sang the National Anthem on opening night.
Here is the Father - Daughter duo of Chris Mozitis and Grace Mozitis.
I have watched and listened to Grace Mozitis sing the National Anthem at the Atlantic City Airshow. Grace performed one of the finest renditions that I have ever heard, anywhere. She has also performed the National Anthem at an NBA Philadelphia 76ers game.
Last night, Tom Mozitis wrote on his Facebook page:
“She Won.”
Chris Mozitis wrote on his Facebook Page:
”Well...Grace was a heartbeat from becoming Miss New Jersey. She's in the wings, so to speak. What will happen in 2024?”
I love that winning spirit and attitude.
What a special evening for two cousins to take first and second place at the Miss New Jersey Scholarship competition.
Congratulations to both Victoria and Grace Mozitis… you’re both winners.
