Overturned Tractor Trailer Snarls Traffic on Ben Franklin Bridge
Avoid the Ben Franklin Bridge -- especially the westbound sound of the roadway, officials say.
This is due to an earlier accident that has been out there for a while. The accident is on the Westbound sound of the road -- that would be on the roadway heading from New Jersey into Philadelphia.
PennDOT video shows a truck on its side blocking the left lane. We think it may have a fuel spill involved as well, so this is likely to be out there for a while.
Waze is showing that traffic is backed up well into New Jersey as only one lane is getting back. The Walt Whitman Bridge and the Betsy Ross Bridges are available as an alternate.
However, don't forget that PATCO is available as a transportation mode. We don't have a set timeline for when the roadway will reopen.
