Bon Jovi Spends World Homeless Day in Camden New Jersey
If you didn't know, yesterday was World Homeless Day. Each year this day, October 10th, is dedicated to drawing attention to homeless people’s needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness, while taking advantage of the stage an ‘international day’ provides.
Well the legendary Bon Jovi celebrated this day right here in New jersey!! Not only is he a rock star but he is businessman, and he came to celebrate the new renovations of a Camden shelter. Joseph's House on Atlantic Avenue has undergone some renovations in the past months.One World Homelessness Day they held an open house to show of the 1.2 million dollar reservations. According to NJ.com, The money of the upgrades came from a mixture of public grants and donations from corporations like the Connelly House and Subaru of America.
Bon Jovi himself also made a huge contribution to this shelter as well. He has actually been a partner with this particular shelter since 2013.
Jovi also says there is still work to be done with this shelter and that it holds a special place in his heart.
