The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia is closed Friday due to a potential threat, college officials just announced.

The school announced the closure just before 6:30 am saying that all classes were canceled today.

The exact nature of the threat was not immediately clear.

School employees told Philadelphia’s 6 ABC that they were told to evacuate the building earlier this morning, but just before 7:30 am, employees were allowed back into the building, according to 6 ABC’s TaRonda Thomas:

Temple officials say that all clinical activities at Temple Hospital will continue as scheduled today.

This is a developing story, we'll have more details when they're made available.
