Claire's Stores has recalled three of their makeup products that may contain asbestos.

The following products that were pulled off the shelves are a contour pallet, eye shadow pallet and a makeup powder which "all tested positive at alarming rates," for asbestos says the Scientific Analytical Institute.

FYI these products have been in stores from October 2016 to March 2019.

As a true makeup fan this is really scary because this could have been a product that I've purchased (thank goodness it's not, but it could have been). What's even more scarier is the fact that Claire's is a store where is primary demographic is young girls.

According to nj.com, officials tested the product and the FDA said there could be possible traces of asbestos in the makeup listed below and "had the possible presence of asbestos fibers in samples taken of the products."

The following SKUs/Lots are affected:

  • Claire's Eyeshadows, UPC #888711847165, SKU #84716, Lot No. 08/17
  • Claire's Compact Powder, UPC #888711839153, SKU #83915, Lot No. 07/15
