
Krispy Kreme in Bensalem, PA Suddenly Closes
Sad news, doughnut lovers. Brace yourselves:
The Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in Bensalem, PA (Bucks County) has permanently closed.
We had been hearing rumors that the store was closing, but we just got the official word from Krispy Kreme officials, confirming the information.
They tell us that the store on Street Road in Bensalem, which first opened in 2011 has officially shut its doors... for good.
The store closed permanently on Sunday (April 10). Krispy Kreme Doughnuts tells that the decision came "as a result of the property’s sublandlord making the business decision to terminate our lease."
It's not clear what exactly happened with the lease for the store.
But local residents say a bank could be built in the site of the former doughnut shop.
So Is Krispy Kreme in Bensalem, PA Moving?
So it's not totally clear what happened to their lease. But local residents have been telling us that they thought Krispy Kreme would be opening another shop in the area (further down Street Road in Bensalem) pretty soon.
Well, we got the answer to that question too. And it's a bad one.
Unfortunately, there is no truth to those rumors. Krispy Kreme will NOT be opening in a new location in Bensalem anytime soon, their spokesperson tells us.
"We thank our team members for their hard work and service, and we also thank our guests and neighbors for their devotion and business," they said in a statement emailed to us Wednesday morning. "While we will not have a shop in the immediate area, we hope they will visit us at other locations when they have the opportunity."
