Leonardo's Restaurant in Lawrence Township is hosting a weekend long Drive-In Film Festival next weekend in their parking lot, according to Facebook.
The fun kicks off Friday night (July 24th) and will continue through Sunday (July 26th), with a double feature Saturday night (July 25th). They're officially calling it "The Summer of Love Film Festival," and the line up is great, with some classic favorites.
Here's the schedule:
Friday, July 24th - Onward
Saturday night - Double Feature - The original Star Wars and Back to the Future.
Sunday night - E.T.
Each night the movie(s) will kick off at 8:30pm on a huge outdoor video wall (obviously, they have to wait until it gets mostly dark). Your ticket includes free popcorn and hotdogs. Tickets are $10 per person, $5 for children under the age of 10, or $35 per car. You can buy your tickets here. I wouldn't wait if you want to go. It's a great family event.
You will be able to sit outside on chairs or blankets, or stay in your car to watch the movie(s). Don't worry, groups will be socially distanced by markings on the ground.
I saw that Leonardo's did a drive-in movie last month and I was so jealous when I drove by...it looked like so much fun. I'm hoping to get to at least one of these movies.
Pop up Drive-In Movies have become very popular during the Covid-19 pandemic, as movie theaters continue to be shut down and people search for entertainment. This is a great way for businesses or towns to make money and entertain the locals.
Leonardo's Restaurant is located at 2021 Brunswick Pike in Lawrence Township. For more info on their Summer of Love Film Fesitival, click here. Don't miss this fun weekend.
