The one thing we can all agree on when it comes to bills, is that we hate hidden fees. Especially in our cable bills. Well thankfully, the state of New Jersey is looking to change all of that.

A New Jersey Lawmaker is making it his duty to force TV, streaming services and satellite companies to up front and honest. On Thursday, Paul Moriarty introduced a bill that would require them to include fees and charges for service in their advertised prices in New Jersey.

“If you’re going to advertise your service is $79 per month, that’s what it should be. Not adding $10 for a box, then a $4 sports fee and a couple dollars for entertainment acquisition,” Moriarty said to the board.

According to, If the bill passed, New Jersey would be the first state in the country to make the so-called hidden fees illegal.
