It is crazy how so many department stores are closing their doors, some of which are right here in our area. It was previously reported that Pier 1 Imports was going to close 450 stores nationwide and unfortunately that day has come.

On a report made by NJ.com, it was mentioned that Princeton, Flemington and East Brunswick locations will be shutting their doors "possibly Feb. 28."

Meanwhile, several local stores in Pennsylvania won't be spared from the closings. The chain's stores in King of Prussia, Fairless Hills, and Feasterville are likely to close as well, according to a report from Business Insider.

It was also reported on NJ.com that the Mt. Laurel, Toms River, and Freehold Pier 1 Imports stores are also on the list of stores that could possibly be closing. However, the store managers at these locations did not want to confirm the negative news.

If they do go through with the closing of multiple Pier 1 Imports stores it can possibly be a total of 18 stores. That is definitely tough for the people that are employed there. Hopefully, they will be transferred to a different location.

Good news for the store in Bridgewater, that one will remain open, according to NJ.com
