An incredible season for Robbinsville’s 12U softball girls came to an end Wednesday afternoon in the regional tournament for the Little League World Series.

The girls, who represented New Jersey as our state champions, were competing in the Eastern regional tournament, which took place in Bristol, Connecticut this week.

Over the course of the five-day tournament, Robbinsville's girls won a game on Tuesday against the New York state champions by a score of 5-0. The effort was led by their starting pitcher Sorella Gallucci who threw a great game to eliminate the team from New York.

Robbinsville’s girls played again in the early afternoon on Wednesday as they beat the Rhode Island team by a score of 9-4.

The victory sent the girls to the semi-final round of the tournament just a few hours later on Wednesday, so it’s understandable that some fatigue likely set in for the semi-final game, where they faced a team from Milford, Connecticut.

They still made an impressive effort as they combined for seven hits in the game, according to TapInto.net. They did, however, come up just short in the effort and lost the game by a final score of 6-2.

We are still super proud of the team. Congratulations girls! Welcome home.
