Veteran Tullytown Firefighter Dies From The Coronavirus
Tullytown (Bucks County) is mourning the loss of a veteran fire chief who died from the coronavirus. NBC10 is reporting that Tullytown’s Assistant Fire Chief Rick Johnson passed away on Friday after testing positive for the coronavirus. He was 50 years old.
The Tullytown Fire Company confirmed the news on Facebook expressing their condolences for Johnson’s family.
“Rick has been with the company for many many years and has held many positions in the fire company,” they wrote. “He was truly a great friend to everyone and most of all family to most of us.”
Fire officials told NBC10 that Johnson was a member of the fire department for 27 years. He was even a mentor to Tullytown’s Fire Chief Aaron Cohen.
Cohen told the TV station that it wasn’t clear where Johnson contracted the virus, but he says that the current lockdown and isolation have made the mourning process even more difficult.
“The worst part is not being able to see somebody, hold somebody or talk to somebody face to face right now,” he said.
