BusinessInsider.com just published a list of the 50 "smartest" colleges in the United States.  They've determined the "smartest" based on the schools' average standardized test scores."

The article points out that standardized "tests are often criticized," but that "research shows that both the SAT and ACT are good measures of general cognitive ability" and "give a reasonable snapshot of a school's overall smarts."

4 scores in our area made the Top 50.  Swarthmore College and Haverford College, both located just outside of Philadelphia, ranked #28 and #26, respectively.

University of Pennsylvania in Philly ranked #15 and no surprise, Princeton University was the highest ranked local college, coming in at #8.
