If you've ever seen the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz, you know that Dorothy wakes up in a magical world after a tornado hits her home. Tina Marie Casamento, an adjunct theatre Professor at Rider University, was so inspired by parts of the movie that she had an idea and that idea turned into a musical. That musical may be headed to Broadway soon.

The new musical is called Chasing Rainbows: The Road to Oz, but the show isn't about Dorothy. It's actually about the woman who played her, Judy Garland. Tina was so inspired by Judy's journey and her musical tells the story of Judy and how she almost never became the big star she was.

Tina Marie Casamento has been in the musical theater industry for over 30 years and has a true passion for it as well as teaching, especially at Rider University, which she's been a part of since 2017.

According to Rider University's website, Professor Tina Marie Casamento's musical will be premiering on the Paper Mill Playhouse stage on September 26th. I, for one, think my Mom will absolutely love this musical. Could this be the next big Broadway musical? I hope so!
