The Springfield Township police department made the discovery when they were performing a wellness check around 7:55 pm on Monday, a press release revealed.
It's believed that this was a family tragedy, as the daughter's wounds appeared to be self-inflicted, the office of the district attorney announced. Final autopsy results are pending at this time.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's office did not offer further comments on their investigation, but one neighbor told Philadelphia's CBS 3 that she believed that the daughter in the home was battling some mental health issues.
