Costco Temporarily Halts Free Samples Due to Coronavirus Fears
Say it ain't so. No more free samples at Costco Wholesale until the coronavirus calms down, according to USA Today, and that may be awhile.
Let me clarify, many stores have stopped giving out the coveted free samples over fear it would help spread the coronavirus, but, not all stores.
I spoke with a employee at the Lawrence Township Costco Wholesale location, and he confirmed that they are indeed one of the stores NOT handing out anymore free samples. When asked when the goodies may make their return, he said he didn't know, and that the ban was "until further notice."
It makes sense for the present time, but, I know you'll miss your samples. Some of my friends make those well known samples their meal, while shopping. Now what are you going to do when stocking up on toilet paper? You know, some Costco Wholesale locations are putting a limit on how much you can buy.
The CFO of Costco said, “We’re getting deliveries daily, but still not enough given the increased levels in demand on certain key items.’’
