It's reported that 12 apartment units in Bensalem's Franklin Commons apartment complex have been damaged. It's believed the fire started after a lightning strike hit the building ahead of this afternoon's thunderstorms.

The fire happened around 4:30 p.m., according to a report from 6ABC. The fire was centered on the 1400 block of Cardinal Drive.

Residents were home at the fire, but they escaped with no injuries, 6ABC reported during Sunday's 6 p.m. broadcast. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, but it's reported that lightning was spotted in the area at the time of the blaze.

The Bensalem Police Department confirmed that the fire was contained to two second-floor apartments in the complex. There were no injuries but 12 units were impacted.
