As of September 30th, Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid became a sneaker free agent. His contract with Adidas ended and he was obviously hot on the market.

If you've noticed Embiid was rocking Under Armour HOVR Havoc during preseason which kind of hinted what his next endeavor would be. Yesterday it was announced, the NBA baller signed a five year sneaker deal.

What makes the deal even better is the fact that it now makes him the highest paid center in the NBA.

Question is what are they going to look like? "I mean, listen ... I'm gonna make sure they design some shoes as pretty as I am. Don't worry about that. We're gonna take care of that." says, Embiid.

Embiid is also looking to help his home town in Cameron and the community right here in Philadelphia through this endorsement. Phillyvoice.com asked what his plans were to help Philly's community, 'We're working on that. Right now it's just the beginning, trying to figure out what's important and what's not. I've been in Philly for four years now, and I've been around Meek [Mill] too, kind of seeing the daily struggles and driving around and seeing that struggle. So we're going to figure that out, and see what are the best options to make an impact.'
