The Petco store in the Mercer Mall will be closing for good on July 5. Petco made the announcement in an email sent to the store's customers on Friday (June 5).

The email encourages customers to shop online or at another location nearby.

Petco has stores on Route 130 in East Windsor, The Lane Ryders Crossing in Milltown, and on Street Road in Bensalem, PA.

The pets who were in the store (except the fish) have reportedly been moved to Petco's East Windsor location, according to posts from members of local community Facebook groups.

The Mercer Mall store is currently offering in-person shopping and curbside pickup, in light of COVID-19 restrictions for essential retailers.

We've reached out to Petco for a comment on the closure, but as of 5 pm on Friday have not heard back. We will share any details they provide.

Several of the businesses located in the Mercer Mall have closed in recent months. The Houlihan's restaurant closed back in November. Plus, the Red Moon Pizzeria closed earlier this year.
