There will be a peaceful candlelight vigil in Pennington (NJ) and a peaceful protest in Yardley (PA) tonight (Thursday, June 4th), in response to the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Pennington 4 Justice will take place along both sides of North and South Main Street from 8 - 8:30pm. I saw a flyer being circulated on Facebook asking you to bring a candle, flashlight, or your phone flashlight to be seen and make a difference. They also ask you bring a sign as a way to express yourself in "standing up for our black friends and neighbors against police brutality, for racial equality, and for the dignity of every human being." I would bring some water too. The temperature is going to be up near 90 degrees today.

Yardley Kneels for Justice will begin at 5:30pm at the intersection of Main Street and Afton Street. The crowd will gather to the Yardley SEPTA station, "in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and to grieve the loss of those from police brutality."

Here are more specifics that I found on Facebook.

Officials in both towns are aware of the events and are confident they can remain peaceful. "Even though there have been no specific threats identified within the borough (Yardley), if any immediate threats do occur, then YBPD will take appropriate precautions," according to the Yardley Patch article.
Remember, we are still in a coronavirus crisis. Organizers ask that everyone planning to attend please use social distance (stand 6 feet apart) and wear a face covering.
