Martha Stewart gets New Jersey Cow Named After Her
You may not have known this, but the legendary Martha Sweetheart is a New Jersey Native! Well she came home to her beloved state to receive a special honor. Stew Leonard’s supermarket has officially come to Jersey and Stewart was one of the ones who helped make it possible. She even got a cow named after her !
The completion of this 80,000 square foot market building is amazing for many reasons. For one this is going to bring more than 300 jobs to the location. Stewart toured the store on Monday and sampled a bunch of the foods. According to nbcnewyork.com, she tried some cheese and other foods before going behind the counter at the meat and seafood departments.
To wrap up her day, Stewart got to meet the brown bovine cow that had been named in her honor. This is especially special to her because she has always been an advocate for farm and animal protection for much of her career as a food and lifestyle guru.
Stew Leonard’s supermarket officially opened its doors today so swing on by when you get the chance.
