BREAKING: 2 Hurt After Military Helicopter Crash at McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst

Two people were hurt earlier this afternoon following the crash of a military helicopter near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

The crash occurred around 3:30 pm in Wrightstown (Burlington County), the base announced on Thursday evening.

"Two personnel were on board and were transferred to nearby medical facilities," the statement reads in part. "Their condition is stable."

The helicopter involved in the crash was a Marine Corps H-1 helicopter, they say.

The base is closed at the Wrightstown entrance "until further notice," the Burlington County Times reports.

The cause of the crash was not made immediately clear by authorities.
