Who is Gilbert Collins?

For television game show fans, it's the answer for the clue "This Princeton, NJ resident has made the semi-finals of the annual Tournament of Champions on the popular game show Jeopardy!"

Gilbert Collins, who works at the Center for Health and Wellbeing at Princeton University and lives in town, finished with $16,801 in winnings in his quarterfinal win in the Tournament of Champions on Jeopardy! last week to earn a spot in the semifinals this coming week. Gilbert appropriately wore an orange and black tie to represent Princeton in his win.

He told the Princetonian, "It takes poise to compete on Jeopardy!, which is similar to a lot of the athletic stuff I’ve done,” he said. “When I’m on the stage, the audience ceases to matter. The whole time Alex is talking, I’m just waiting for him to get to that last word he’s going to say and trying to time my ring at that moment."

The semifinals air this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with the finals on Thursday and Friday, all on ABC.

Best of luck to Gilbert -- his hometown radio station will be rooting for him.
