Parts of Interstate 95 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Close Overnight on Friday
If your overnight trip this Friday (09/21) consists of getting on I-95 you may be in trouble.
Plan on redirecting your drive away from I-95 and also the PA Turnpike.
Both directions on 95 are set to be closed due to road work that is being done to finish the I-95/Turnpike interchange. I-95 is set to be closed between Route 1 and Route 413.
This $1.1 billion project all started in 1969 and is finally close to being completed. If the weather is good and allows crews to open the roads back up, it will be drivable again on Saturday afternoon.
Once all the work is done you will start to notice all the new traffic signs. Spokeswoman, Kathleen Walter said, "Road crews need to quickly replace and uncover signage."
