The Bent Spoon has briefly closed, but don't worry because they will reopen in early February. This quick break is all part of their annual maintenance that they officially announced on their website.

I reached out to them to get more information on what they have planned behind the scenes and they were kind enough to share their exciting news with me. A representative for The Bent Spoon said they are taking the time off to focus on painting, refinishing their wide plank walnut floors, equipment maintenance, and giving their establishment a super deep clean. They try and schedule their brief closing around Princeton University's winter break.

What's in store for when they re-open? They'll be filling their gelato case with some winter citrus flavors (like organic blood orange, organic Meyer lemon, and organic grapefruit). They will also have flavors inspired by Valentine's Day too (like pink rose, bitter chocolate & strawberry flavors made with local organic berries).

So if you were upset they'd be closed for a long time, don't worry. It will be worth the wait. The Bent Spoon will be back and better than ever soon with new flavors.

Plus, if you can't wait for your ice cream fix during this polar vortex, don't worry. There are other ice cream shops in Princeton to check out like Thomas Sweet and Halo Pub.
