Unfortunately, none of our local teams will be playing in this year's Super Bowl, but there will be 2 dogs from New Jersey that will be competing in Puppy Bowl XVI.

Puppy Bowl XVI is scheduled to air on Sunday, Feb. 3 starting at 3pm on Animal Planet and the dogs competing on this year's show are posted on the network's website.

Linus, a 14-week old Pomeranian Miniature Poodle mix from New Life Animal Rescue in Marlton, NJ will compete for Team Ruff.

Linus is also one of the pups featured in this preview video posted by US Weekly.

The other New Jersey dog competing in Puppy Bowl XVI is named Spritz.  Spritz is an 18-week old German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix from Jersey Girls Animal Rescue in South Plainsfield.  According to Animal Planet, Spritz is just there for the after-party.

Animal Planet will also air Dog Bowl, which features older shelter dogs, and there are several pups from New Jersey on those rosters.  Check them out here.
