This Popular South Jersey Restaurant Was Just Sold
According to the Courier Post, the owners of the popular Pop Shop in Collingswood have sold the restaurant. The new owners also own The Pop Shop in Medford, NJ.
Original Pop Shop owner, Stink Fisher, told the Courier Post that "this is one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through." He also said that opening the restaurant 14 years ago was ""a vision, a dream, a shot in the dark." Based on how busy the restaurant is, it appears that the shot in the dark paid off.
I first became aware of The Pop Shop when the restaurant was featured on an episode of Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay. In the episode, Bobby competed with Fisher to see who could make the tastiest grilled cheese sandwich. (By the way, you can find videos of the episode on The Pop Shop's YouTube page).
Grilled Cheese is one of The Pop Shop's signature menu items. In fact, the restaurant currently offers 33 different varieties of grilled cheese.
The Pop Shop also offers many other comfort foods, like pancakes, mac & cheese, burgers, and lots of desserts.
The Courier Post says that Fisher plans on opening a new catering company called Fox and Fish Catering.
