Arm & Hammer Park, home of the Trenton Thunder, will hold its first baseball game of 2020 at the end of July, according to NJ.com, but, the Thunder won't be playing.

Jeff Hurley, General Manager of the Trenton Thunder, confirmed the stadium will be the host of the final championship game of the New Jersey "Last Dance" tournament on July 31st. It's a 3 week high school baseball tournament, that kicks off July 14th and runs through July 30th and will wrap up in Trenton the next day.

A little over two hundred teams will be assembled to participate. If you're unfamiliar, the NJ "Last Dance" tournament is a summer tournament for players who were in grades 9-12 during the 2019-20 school year. This tournament means even more this year (especially to the seniors) since all of these players had their seasons canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Details are still being worked out. Hurley said, "We will follow any outdoor seating limitations put in place by the governor. The exact number of spectators allowed in the stadium is yet to be determined. Once we know how many fans we can have, we will announce a date when tickets will go on sale. It’ll be nice to have the sounds of baseball in the stadium again.”

Fans will be asked to wear face coverings while watching the game, players too, when not on the field. Team trainers will be taking temperatures of the players and coaches before games.

There are a few other area minor league stadiums hosting single elimination games leading up the the final game in Trenton, like TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater.

The article says Mercer County players will be from Hamilton High West, Steinert, Nottingham, Ewing, Notre Dame, and Trenton Catholic, while Allentown and New Egypt are entering teams.

Good luck!
