An explosion, which rocked a Bensalem hotel Sunday evening, sent two guests to a local hospital for treatment, officials say.

The Bensalem Fire Department reported that the incident occurred at the Extended Stay of America on Tillman Drive in Bensalem Sunday evening. CBS 3 says the explosion took place around 6 pm.

Two of the occupants in the room where the explosion occurred suffered minor injuries, and they were taken to a local hospital, the fire department confirmed.

The cause of the explosion is still underway, but the hotel was able to re-open quickly Sunday evening. Two rooms of the second floor remained closed, however, following the blast.

The incident is under investigation by the Bensalem Township Fire Rescue with assistance from Bensalem Polie and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (the ATF from Philadelphia).
