As families try to negotiate the totally new landscape that is summer 2020, Ocean County's favorite family destinations are stepping in to fill the void that the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic created.

Yesterday, we heard about the Lakewood BlueClaws' brilliant plan to repurpose their scoreboard to become a huge outdoor movie screen. If you missed that news, click here to get caught up.

Today, we just got word from our friends over at Jenkinson's Boardwalk that starting this Thursday, weekly fireworks will be back in Point Pleasant Beach.

Just a little while ago, Jenks dropped the announcement on their official Facebook page that weekly Thursday night fireworks will start up this Thursday, July 9th.

Here's the big announcement that was posted on Wednesday afternoon:

As the Jenkinson's team notes, face masks are now required in New Jersey in any situation where social distancing isn't possible, even outdoors, so they ask visitors to keep that in mind during and after the fireworks shows.

They also ask visitors to check out the Know Before You Go page on their official website for the latest information and updates on social distancing on the boardwalk and beach.

The Know Before You Go page also includes details on what's open, new guidelines, and of course hours for the attractions that are operating on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk.

And, of course, the weekly Thursday fireworks displays are weather permitting. You can keep up to date with any postponements on Jenkinson's Boardwalk's official Facebook page by clicking here.
