What NFL Team Will Draft Nottingham High Grad Saquan Hampton?
The 2019 NFL Draft kicks off with Round 1 tonight in Nashville and while it's almost a certainty that Nottingham High grad Saquan Hampton's name won't be called this evening, there's a good chance that he will be drafted at some point tomorrow or Saturday.
The Hamilton native played safety for Rutgers University and his bio on the school's website says that he was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten after last season. He started all 12 games for the Scarlet Knights and won the Homer Hazel Award, which is given to the team's most valuable player.
Here's where Hampton has been projected to be drafted on various media mock drafts:
- BleacherReport.com --- 6th Round to the Arizona Cardinals
- The San Diego Union-Tribune --- 7th Round to the Green Bay Packers
- Chat Rueter, NFL.com --- 7th Round to the New England Patriots
- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette --- 6th Round to the Pittsburgh Steelers
Earlier this month, Hampton was interviewed on NFL Network's Good Morning Football.
According to Wikipedia, Hampton was a "key member" of the Nottingham High team that won the Central Jersey Group III Championship in 2012.
