I hate when something is expensive and I feel like I am being ripped off. I try to save money any way I can, so when I have to spend a huge amount of money and I could have avoided it, I get really upset. I remember when I was a kid and I would drive down to the Jersey Shore with my brother and Mom, tolls cost 25 cents and they increases to 35 cents as I got older. We had to pay about $1 to ride the Garden State Parkway, now you pay at least $1 and up every time you go through a toll booth. Although they have made some great repairs to the Garden State Parkway, I still think it costs a lot and if I can take the route on Waze that doesn't require tolls, I will.

NJ.com says, a meeting is taking place today on whether or not to increase tolls on the Garden State Parkway, New Jersey Turnpike, and the Atlantic City Expressway. If all are in favor, we could see an increase at tolls on these highways on September 13th. Depending on which road you take, you could see an increase of up to $1 or more. The toll increase has nothing to do with the coronavirus pandemic, highway authorities need more money to expand roads and do more construction. Local roads may be more packed with people trying to avoid these highways, depending on how much patience drivers have for residential speed limits and traffic lights.
