We all just want to start a summer game plan and it's been tough because of the whole pandemic. Now that some places are reopening it does make it a little easier. One thing that is extremely old school but seems to be making a come back is those drive-in movie theaters.

According to Delish.com, drive-in movie theaters are making such a comeback that they're even going to have one in the Yankees Stadium's parking lot. It was also mentioned that it will be a "carnival-like experience" with everyone in their vehicles enjoying a nice movie.

We learned from TimeOut.com that the drive-in experience at the Yankee Stadium will not start until July. That is a good amount of time to start planning for a quick trip to the Yankees Stadium. It'll be strange that it is not for a baseball game though.

The name of the drive-in being held at the Yankees Stadium is going to be Uptown Drive-In. TimeOut.com also stated that the customers that come to the Uptown Drive-In will have the opportunity to be a part of "on-site live interactive games, raffles, and giveaways."

The Uptown Drive-In will also have some special nights for couples. According to Timeout.com, Friday through Sunday is a date-night but it was also mentioned there will be a family brunch series on Saturday and Sunday during the day.

If you've never been to a drive-in and want to know what to expect, here are a few things.

  • The movie screen is usually lifted a little - don't think you will have a terrible view.
  • You must turn your radio to the PA system of the drive-in.
  • Expect some visitors to get bothered if you happen to accidentally turn on your lights.
  • Your car cannot be idling while watching the movie. So on hot days it can be tough.

If you don't want to make the drive to the Yankees Stadium for the drive-in, just know that Lawrenceville Main Street will start hosting their own drive-in starting the end of June.
