After 9 Years In Business, New Hope’s Blue Moose Cafe Will Close For Good Next Week
We've learned that the popular Blue Moose Restaurant & Café in New Hope will close its doors for good in just over a week.
The restaurant’s owner, Skylar Bird, first opened the Blue Moose back in 2011 when he was just 19 years old. Bird, who is now 27, announced the plans to close the restaurant on Sunday, August 11. Bird shared the news on Facebook earlier this week.
“Owning this restaurant has been the most challenging and exciting experience of my life,” he wrote in Tuesday’s Facebook post. “I know the time is right for me to move on and explore other opportunities, and that is why I have made the difficult decision to close the restaurant.”
Bird told the New Hope Free Press that he has partner Katie Antinello will miss the friendships and connections they made in New Hope.
“While we have no immediate plans for another food venture, we are looking forward to continuing projects in the Lambertville area and spending some time to recharge our creativity,” he told NewHopeFreePress.com on Wednesday.
A new restaurant is expected to open in the space in September, by the way, according to the newspaper’s report. The exact details about the new eatery were not immediately clear.
Good luck Skylar and team!
