Amazing! The Largest Castle in New Jersey You Must See
When you think of "castles" we probably immediately go to thoughts of old Europe. Giant English castles or castles sitting on a mountainside in Germany or ivy-covered castles in Ireland. You probably don't think New Jersey, but yes we have some beautiful castles right here in the Garden State.
Not only does this particular castle in New Jersey have an amazing history, but it is in pristine condition. When I searched for the "largest" castle in New Jersey, this North Jersey estate came up as the answer. Personally, I have not visited this historical sight, but it is now on my list for sure.
According to Wikipedia, the largest castle in New Jersey is Lambert Castle. "Lambert Castle, originally called Belle Vista, is located within the Garret Mountain Reservation in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey. The building was built in 1892 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 3, 1976, for its significance in art, architecture, and industry."
Truly a beautiful piece of architecture that sits right here in North Jersey in Passaic County. Lambert Castle has been undergoing renovation and is expected to be completed at some point this year.
According to Wikipedia "Lambert Castle was built in 1892 as the home of Catholina Lambert, the owner of a prominent silk mill in the City of Paterson. Constructed in the Medieval Revival architectural style, Mr. Lambert's dream was to build a home reminiscent of the castles in Great Britain that he remembered from his boyhood years."
Excited to visit the castle once it re-opens after the renovation project. A true piece of American history and beauty is located in New Jersey. Get out there and enjoy Jersey history you will be amazed at how much history and beauty is located right here in New Jersey.
