In the just-released J.D. Power 2018 North America Airport Satisfaction Study SM, North American airports scored record-high satisfaction ratings.

Unfortunately, the two major airports that residents of Central Jersey use are ranked among the worst in the nation.

In the Large Airport Ranking: Philadelphia International Airport placed third to last in satisfaction.

Meanwhile, in the Mega Airport Ranking: Newark Liberty International Airport finished dead last in satisfaction.

The study "is based on responses from 40,183 North America travelers who traveled through at least one domestic airport and covers both departure and arrival experiences (including connecting airports) during the past three months."

Satisfaction is determined by "examining six factors (in order of importance): terminal facilities; airport accessibility; security check; baggage claim; check-in/baggage check; and food, beverage, and retail."
