Atlantic City Revealed Their New Arena Football League Team

The official Arena Football League team of Atlantic City, New Jersey will be known as The Blackjacks.

The team recently made the announcement of their team name and logo at Ocean Resort Casino’s Ovation Hall according to Press Of Atlantic City. The name is an obvious nod to the classic casino game by the same name. The team's logo depicts a "jack" that one would see on a playing card. The logo also hints at the colors the team will wear. The uniforms will be primarily black and red with a gold trim.

A contest was held to name the team and they received over 2,000 submissions. Besides The Blackjacks, the other top names were: the Gamblers, High Rollers, Jackpot, and Royals. They were almost called The Gamblers, but The Blackjacks got more votes.

The team's first game will be an away game on April 27th against the Philadelphia Soul at the Wells Fargo Center. Press Of Atlantic City reported that their first official home game will be on May 4th against the Columbus Destroyers at Boardwalk Hall.
