Costco made a big announcement this week and according to at least one website, it is "life-changing."

Costco just introduced it's a mobile app and one of the features is a digital membership card.  That is the feature that caused CookingLight.com to proclaim it "life-changing."  The site said, "You can finally forget dumping out the contents of your purse in the checkout line or the 'walk of shame' to Costco’s customer service desk."

If you're a member, you can download the free Costco app from the App Store® or the Google Play store.  Once you launch the app, you will be asked to login to your Costco account.  If you don't have an account, you'll be able to create one.

Next, you'll be asked to verify your membership.  After that, you're good to.  The app will have a screen that shows your picture and a QR code that can be scanned at a register.

Cooking Light does say that as of now, the digital membership card cannot be used when purchasing gas.  (By the way, earlier this month, we posted a story entitled "Should You Avoid Buying Gas at Costco."  You can read it here).

Costco has several locations in our area, including Lawrence, NJ, Flemington, NJ, Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Warminster, PA.
