Local authorities are investigating an apparent homicide that took place on Bennington Drive in East Windsor, Mercer County.

East Windsor police responded to a residence around 8:30 am today (February 27). They found the victim — 30-year-old Luis Sanchez -- unresponsive on the back patio. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim's body had visible wounds and trauma, authorities say.

The Office of the Mercer County Prosecutor issued a statement confirming the news late Wednesday. They say that that the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and East Windsor Township Police Department were investigating the case.

Sanchez lived at the residence and his body was discovered by a friend, according to Wednesday's press release.
