BREAKING: Parts of I-295 in Mt. Laurel Closed Due to Severe Flooding
Saturday’s heavy rains are winding down, but the effects of the storm are still being felt in our area. As a result of the rains, we’re seeing VERY heavy traffic in the area of I-295 in the Mount Laurel area. In fact, traffic on parts of I-295 is completely stopped at this hour.
94.5 PST traffic is reporting that I-295 is jammed in both directions in the Mount Laurel area from exit 36B past exit 43, as of 4 pm on Saturday.
The worst of flooding is reported after Route 38 (exit 40), according to officials.
There’s also jammed traffic between Route 73 north (exit 36 B) and Rancocas Woods/Delran (exit 43). We're hearing from eyewitnesses that traffic has been stopped in the area as officials work to resolve the flooding conditions.
Additionally, we're seeing backups in the area on Route 38 as well at this time. If you're driving in the area, pack a ton of patience this afternoon as it will take some time for the waters to recede.
And, of course, if you see a flooded road, turn around so you don't drown.
This is a developing story. We'll have more details when they're made available.
