A popular face in Philadelphia local news will be departing our TV screens.

CBS 3 (KYW-TV)'s meteorologist Katie Fehlinger announced that she will be leaving the station. Her last day on air will be Tuesday, September 17. Fehlinger shared the news on Twitter Friday (September 6):

Fehlinger, who worked the morning said that her 2:30 am alartm was always going to have a shelf life, and now it's time.

"I now need to put my focus on my girls, my husband, the goal of a healthier lifestyle and the freedom that comes with setting my own schedule," Fehlinger wrote.

The meteorologist says that plans to use her "motley skill set" in a new professional use, and of course, she looks forward to "sleeping IN until 5:30AM."

Katie went on to thank her colleagues in a lengthy Twitter post (as shown above).

Fehlinger joined the Eyewitness News morning team back in 2011, according to her station bio.

In 2015, she made national headlines after becoming the subject of online bullying for her "baby bump" as she carried her twin girls. Katie's response (a message posted on Facebook) went viral as a rallying cry for victims of body shaming everywhere.
