Chipotle With Drive Thru May Be Coming to Hamilton, NJ

My friends at Mercer Eats and Jersey Digs are reporting that a new Chipotle Mexican Grill may be coming soon to Hamilton Township (Mercer County).

It would be located at 249 Route 33 and the corner of Whitehorse-Mercerville Road....across from Mercerville Shopping Center and Applebees. The township recently tore down a Lukoil gas station at that location.

As big as Hamilton Township is, this would be the first Chipotle Mexican Grill in town. The plans, submitted by Mercerville Equities, LLC, call for the new restaurant to have a drive thru, digital pickup zone, and an outdoor seating area. There will also be 17 parking spaces if you plan to go inside.

The proposed fast food restaurant still needs several approvals from the Hamilton Township Zoning Board of Adjustment before going forward. There's a virtual hearing scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, February 8th) at 6pm. It's open to the public.

I hope it's approved because that would make it the only Chipotle Mexican Grill in the area with a drive thru. The other locations in Mercer County...Mercer Mall in Lawrenceville, and West Windsor, in the Lowe's shopping center don't have drive thru.

A drive thru is a game charger for a lot of people, including me. When the weather's bad, or cold, like it is now, it's so convenient.

There's a rumor floating around that Chipotle Mexican Grill was coming to Hamilton Marketplace, on Route 130, but, nothing's been confirmed or denied. I heard that Chick fil A would move across the street to the old Ruby Tuesdays and Chipotle Mexican Grill would go where the current Chick fil A is. Hmmm. We'll see what happens.
