The Hamilton Township School District has announced that all three of their high schools will hold graduation ceremonies at the Trenton Thunder baseball stadium on July 29th (rain date, July 30th).

So, here's how this is going to work. Each high school (Steinert, Nottingham, and Hamilton High West) will have their own, independent ceremony. It's NOT going to be one big combined ceremony. All the graduating seniors will be down on the baseball field. Parents and allowed guests will be up in the stands. Of course, parents and guests will have to be socially distanced and follow health guidelines, like wearing facial coverings. At this point, the school district is saying each family will get approximately four tickets, but, it could be more when the logistics are further worked out and a seating chart is created.

The school district said in a statement, "The Board of Education, district administration, and building principals have been committed to making graduation as special as possible, given the circumstances and legal limitations. We hope that having a graduation on the field at Thunder stadium will give our students and families a positive and memorable graduation experience that they will always remember."

I'm beyond excited for all of these hard working students, who had their senior years cut short by the coronavirus pandemic. Now, they will get to celebrate all of their accomplishments during this challenging time. Bravo to this school district for being creative and figuring out a great alternative for their seniors.

Congratulations Class of 2020 (including my niece, Courtney, Steinert '20). You deserve your moment to shine. Soak it all in. I can't wait to safely celebrate.
